What time system do you prefer?

I prefer 24-hour, but my country doesn't use it.

I strongly prefer 24-hour clock system. Just for the sake of saying: "Thirteen o' clock."

"Thirteen hundred hours"

I think "o' clock" is only used by 12 hour time, not sure. It does make sense since a clock does not have more than 12 divisions, and the origin of the phrase obviously involves a clock :o

From what I understand, "o' clock" can be used with either time system, but "Hundred hours" is for military time, which uses the 24-hour system, but not all 24-hour systems are military time. (Run-on sentence?) Kind of like the square-rectangle relationship, or something.

"O' clock" means of the clock. And what do we call those digital things with timers? Digital clock.

Yeah, it might be used only on those 12-hour clock things, but that's the literal meaning.

I don't have any strong preference and I switch between them without giving it much thought.

I prefer 24-hour. It offers simple clarity, something which 12-hour time lacks. Why must we add "pm" or "am" onto the time? It seems so pointless.

Nevertheless, I live in an area where everyone uses 12-hour, so I don't have much of a choice except to be willing to use both. I have to confess that I still think in 12-hour time.

24 hour system makes a lot more sense, but I have been using the 12 hour system since I was a small little caterpillar, and it is hard for me to think in the 24 hour system. I even "convert" time from 24 to 12 to better interpret it.

For some reason, "pm" flips the "Panic switch" in my mind, it indicates that half the day is already over and if I need to get stuff done I better hurry up.

I guess that same effect would be induced for something like "sixteen hundred hours" in the 24 hour system, but I'm not used to it, so I cannot say.

I vote for 12 hour system simply because I have been using it for too long. If you ask me which system makes more sense, then it's the 24 hour system.

Apparently while we have a lot of people preferring 24 hour time, the only extreme preference is for 12 hour time (option #5).

I personally use 24 hour time, and I try to have my devices set to that, although I'm normally fine with using 12 hour time, and I can switch between the two fairly easily. Kind of like Vouk, I'm pretty certain that I switch between the two without much thought, sometimes. Just because being in the USA made me grow up with 12 hour, though I generally do a quick conversion of 24 to 12 hour anyway.
